Robin Harris is an East Tennessee native and University of Tennessee alumnus. Robin is an Advanced Practice Nurse certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as an Adult Health Nurse Practitioner. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from East Tennessee State University, a Master of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Virginia, and obtained her Ph.D. in Nursing from the University of Tennessee. She holds dual licensure from the State of Tennessee as a Registered Nurse and an Advanced Practice Nurse. Her clinical experience includes medical-surgical and acute/critical care nursing, as well as advanced practice nursing experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a private cardiology practice, Urgent Care, and occupational health medicine before her employment here at UT Student Health Center in 2021.
Dr. Harris is full-time faculty with the UTK College of Nursing. She works part-time prn as a Nurse Practitioner in the Acute Care Clinic at UT Student Health Center. Call the Phone Triage Nurse at 865-974-5080 to schedule an appointment.
The Acute Care Clinic serves patients with same-day, non-emergent health care issues. Potentially emergent health care issues like head injury, motor vehicle accidents, chest pain, difficulty breathing, persistent abdominal pain, and “worst ever” headache are referred to an Emergency Room where they may be more appropriately assessed and treated. A prescription for an antibiotic will not be called in without you being seen by a health care provider in the Student Health Center.
