Aruna Venkatesh is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner earning her national certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She also has and maintains her dual licensure through the State of Tennessee as a Registered Nurse and an Advanced Practice Nurse.
She received her MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) from Kasturba Medical College, Karnataka, India. She has worked in rural and urban community health for five years in India before coming to Knoxville. While continuing to work in health care, she earned her Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of Tennessee Knoxville. She has worked in outpatient Family Practice in Knoxville and Wartburg, Tennessee, as a Nurse Practitioner for seven years before joining the UT Student Health Center in March 2020.
Aruna is a full-time Nurse Practitioner in the UT Student Health Center Primary Care Clinic. She also works in the Physical Exam Section for Special Purpose Physicals for students. Most patients are seen by appointment. Appointments are scheduled by calling out Phone Triage Nurse at (865) 974-5080.
Lab test results are generally conveyed through a secure portal link sent via a student’s Vol Mail account. Be sure to check your Vol Mail for these notifications.
