Appointments in the COVID-19 Test Clinic are limited to students that are not having active symptoms of infection with the COVID-19 virus. Those with symptoms of COVID-19, as listed below, should seek care with a healthcare provider.
The COVID-19 Test Clinic is staffed by nurses of the Student Health Center who are permitted to order COVID-19 tests for students that are not having symptoms of COVID-19. Students without symptoms of COVID-19 infection who need to be tested due to recent exposure, recent travel, or having been identified as a member of a positive campus surveillance group, may schedule an appointment in the COVID-19 Test Clinic. Please bring your health insurance information (card) with you to your appointment.
All students tested through the COVID-19 Test Clinic will be required to complete the online <link>Self-isolation Form<link> and quarantine away from others until their test results are back. Students residing in on-campus housing may be required to move to alternative temporary quarantine housing while they are awaiting their results. Any student tested for COVID-19 must remain in quarantine until their test results are back and during that time may not attend work or classes in person.
Students with symptoms that might be consistent with COVID-19 infection should contact the Telephone Triage Nurse and request an appointment in the <link>Sick Clinic<link>. COVID-19 infection may cause a wide range of symptoms – from mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. People with these symptoms may have COVID-19:
- Fever or chills
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Muscle or body aches
- New loss of taste or smell
- Sore throat
- Congestion or runny nose
- Nausea or vomiting
This list does not include all possible symptoms. CDC will continue to update this list as we learn more about COVID-19.
Students scheduled in the COVID-19 Test Clinic who present with symptoms will be rescheduled to the Sick Clinic and may not receive testing in the COVID-19 Test Clinic.
There is no charge for an appointment in the COVID-19 Test Clinic. However, there are charges for the COVID-19 test. These charges will be billed to your health insurance. You must bring your health insurance information (card) to your appointment. If you do not have health insurance, your charges will be billed to the Department of Health. You may not be tested for anything other than COVID-19 through the COVID-19 Test Clinic
