Pam Waddell is a Knoxville native and University of Tennessee alumnus. Pam is a certified Advance Practice Nurse specializing in Family Practice. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, in 1993. Pam earned a Master of Science in Nursing degree from Carson-Newman College in 1999. She has dual licensure from the State of Tennessee as a Registered Nurse and an Advanced Practice Nurse. She maintains national certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Her experience includes 6 years as a Registered Nurse with critical care experience, as well as 14 years as a Nurse Practitioner in Internal Medicine, Family Practice, and Urgent Care before her employment here at UT Student Health Center in 2013.
Pam is a full-time Nurse Practitioner in the Acute Care Clinic (ACC) at UT Student Health Center. Appointments are scheduled by calling our Phone Triage Nurse at (865) 974- 5080. The ACC serves patients with same-day, non-emergent health care issues. Potentially emergent health care issues like head injury, motor vehicle accidents, chest pain, difficulty breathing, persistent abdominal pain, and “worst ever” headache are referred to an Emergency Room where they may be more appropriately assessed and treated. Leave a message if the extension is not answered as they are busy with patient care. Messages are checked frequently. Pam will not call in an antibiotic prescription without seeing you in the clinic.
