Women's Health Clinic

The Women’s Health Clinic, under the direction of Dr. Robert Elder, serves to meet the gynecologic and reproductive healthcare needs of our female student population. The following are some examples of services provided: Annual Female Examinations, Pap Smears, Family Planning and Birth Control, Pregnancy Testing, and screening and treatment of Sexually Transmitted Infections.  Menstrual Disorders, Hormonal Issues, and Breast Health concerns are also areas frequently evaluated by providers in the Women’s Health Clinic.”

As with the other specialty clinics it is perfectly acceptable to schedule with the primary care clinic if availability and provider choice is an issue.  Appointments for the Women’s Health Clinic or Primary Care Clinic are available online or by calling an Appointment Clerk at (865) 974-3648.
The Student Health Center charges for gynecological exams include the following:

The UTSHS cost range for examination and testing is usually $65.00- $105.00. If a patient also desires birth control, a prescription will be given which may be taken to a local pharmacy. Oral contraceptives cost $30.00-$50.00 per month.
