Dr. Becky Morgan is a native of Huntsville, Alabama, and pursued her undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. She received her MD from the University of South Alabama, and completed her Family Practice Residency and Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at the University of Alabama School of Medicine – Huntsville.
She spent two years in private practice in Franklin, Tennessee, before coming to the University of Tennessee.
Dr. Morgan is Board Certified in Family Medicine and has a Certificate of Special Qualifications in Sports Medicine. Her experience includes serving as the team physician for the Lady Vols for 13 years, and serving as a team physician for USA Swimming for 10 years. Dr. Morgan also completed a physician internship at the United States Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, CA prior to serving as the Swim Team physician at the 2001 Goodwill Games in Brisbane, Australia.
Dr. Morgan is the full-time physician in the Sports Medicine Clinic, seeing students who present to the Health Center with musculoskeletal problems. She works very closely with our Physical Therapist, Amy Myers, PT, to provide a team approach to Sports Medicine care. Her interests include all athletes from the casual, recreational athlete to the serious competitor.
Most patients are seen by appointment. You can schedule an appointment either by calling (865) 974-5080, or through the online patient portal on our main page. After your visit, my nurse or I will contact you for abnormal lab results. If you need to contact me or are inquiring about lab results, please call (865) 974-2280. If you are feeling worse or not improving as expected, please call (865) 974-5080 to schedule a follow-up appointment. I will not call in antibiotic prescriptions without seeing you.
